This 10-step starter's guide will not only arm you with the knowledge needed for success but also prioritize your safety. And hey, if you're used to my boudoir photography offerings, glamour modelling is a slightly different yet equally exhilarating avenue to explore!
1. Age Matters:
Glamour modelling is strictly for those aged 18 and above. Opt for reputable companies that follow guidelines and prioritize your safety.
For some women glamour modelling is 100% their absolute dream career, for others I'm not so sure if they are just dabbling, curious or looking to earn money. Even if you're over 18, I will triple check in with you. Maybe start with a lingerie portfolio.
2. Be Absolutely Sure:
Before embarking on a glamour modelling journey, be certain it's the right path for you. Once your image is online, it's permanent. Research the industry thoroughly and explore all options before making a commitment.
This is important. I see many women go on to create joyful satisfying glamour modelling careers and I see some who struggle. That's why I also offer a strictly lingerie option, especially for younger models who are still undecided, take your time.
3. Sign on the Dotted Line:
Always sign a contract/model release form before any photoshoot. Carefully read and understand the terms, ensuring you have a legal safeguard for how your images are used. So many women want to skip this step. I hear about so many dodgy people and behavior in this industry, so don't.
4. Empower Yourself to Say No:
Don't let nerves, politeness or money dictate your choices. If a pose feels uncomfortable, say no. Your comfort should always be a priority, and reputable professionals will respect your boundaries. As an established London boudoir photography studio we have to turn so many people away, because their requests are more golden showers than golden confidence, and I really dislike turning money away :).
5. Safety in Numbers:
Never attend meetings alone, especially in unfamiliar settings. Inform a trusted friend or relative about your whereabouts for added peace of mind.
6. Caution is Key:
Approach the glamour industry with caution. Excitement and eagerness are natural, but don't let them override your doubts. Investigate every aspect, seek advice, and conduct thorough research. Most glamour models I know use a pseudonym or alter ego.
7. Research Agencies Thoroughly:
Choose agencies wisely. Investigate their reputation, client testimonials, and track record. Reputable agencies prioritize your safety and well-being.
8. Professional Portfolio:
Invest in a professional portfolio especially in the beginning, showcasing your versatility and unique style. It's your visual resume, so make it stand out and reflect your potential.
9. Networking is Vital:
Build connections within the industry. Attend events, network with models (there are some who willing to mentor, and take you under their wing), photographers, and join online communities. Networking opens doors to opportunities and valuable insights. When I'm not boudoiring, I do try and stay up to date with what's going on in the glamour world too.
10. Balance Passion with Caution:
While glamour modelling can be personally satisfying and lucrative, striking a balance between passion and caution is crucial. Your safety is non-negotiable, and building a successful career stems from informed decisions. I do a bit of erotic studio work, I hear stories from clients and models of photographers pushing limits. I can put you on to the websites I'm on, I'd just say double check references before saying yes to photoshoots.
Embarking on a glamour modelling career is an exciting journey. By following these ten tips, you'll not only help your chances of success but also help ensure a safe and rewarding experience in this crazy industry.
Ha, so many warnings, it's a wonder you read this far... ...but if you have thank you :)

I also run an invite only monthly Model Days, usually last Sunday of the month. So after your initial session, you can always top up your model portfolio, create content in a friendly and familiar atmosphere. Whether you need nude boudoir pictures, lingerie, influencer content or an artistic nude photoshoot to promote your subscription sites like only fans and sunroom etc.
Pricing: I do try and keep the price down for these, (locations etc) by shooting at least two or three models and with pre-agreed social media content sharing up to lingerie, implied nude, semi-nude. Higher levels up to erotic, if you so choose, you keep for your own requirements.
That's it for now. I'll be adding to this list as I think of more things, are you a glamour model, do you have any thought or tips to add, let me know :)
